End of the Year Programs
Theater productions written and directed by IAMBK performing and visual art students will be held in Auburn and Tuskegee in May 2020. The places will be announced. All performances will be open to the public at a cost of $5 per performance. The Auburn production, “Times are Hard”, is written for a mature audience. The Tuskegee production, “The Climb”, can be enjoyed by everyone.
Annual Fundraising Gala
IAMBK will host its 4th Annual Fundraising Event at the Epworth Center in Auburn, Al; Saturday, December 14, 2019. All proceeds from the event will help to provide transportation and after-school enrichment services to youth, ages 6-18, from 4:00 – 7:30 pm, four days a week.
Visual Art Displays
IAMBK Visual Art students will display their creations during the year in Lee and Macon Counties. Display sites for 2019-20 include: Auburn Bank; Magnolia Haven, Tuskegee; Macon Co. Library; Lewis Cooper Jr. Memorial Library, Opelika; Veteran’s Hospital, Tuskegee; and Compass Bank, Auburn.
Performing Arts
IAMBK music and drama students will perform in various events throughout the community. Performance sites will include the Jack-O-Lantern Lane Pumpkin Patch in Lafayette, Al on October 26, 2019 and the Veteran’s Hospital in Tuskegee on February 23, 2020.
Family Art Nights
Caregivers and youth are invited to collaboratively create works of art at each IAMBK location.
Family Reading Night
Caregivers and children are invited to share the love of reading and to learn strategies that will help build reading fluency and comprehension; the session will be facilitated by Auburn Public Library staff on Tuesday, October 8th, 2019 at the Frank Brown Recreation Center.
